Decode the VIN
Section titled “Decode the VIN”- Enter VIN and the four-digit model Year in the top form, then Decode.
- If rejected, correct the values and try again. Use the full 17-character VIN when available; the form accepts 1–17 characters.
Use the vehicle details
Section titled “Use the vehicle details”Even when details appear, Error Codes > Error Text may explain a partial result. Compare General Information > Model Year with the year you entered.
Match the VIN and vehicle details to the registration, title, manufacturer label, or carrier record. Blank fields do not mean missing equipment; decoding does not prove ownership, condition, or coverage.
